High Class Racing has entered a new partnership with Michelotto Engineering and Isotta Fraschini that could result in the Tipo 6 LMH-C making a return to racing for the first time since 2024.
The Hypercar was developed by Micheletto and made its FIA World Endurance Championship debut in 2024 when it was run by the Duqueine squad under the Isotta name. It achieved a best result of 13th in that year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.
However, the car has not raced since the subsequent Brazilian round of the 2024 WEC campaign, but the new link-up with High Class Racing, which has been described as involving “technical development” of the car, could result in the machine returning to competition.
High Class has previously been a stalwart among the LMP2 ranks, contesting a variety of championships including the WEC, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and European Le Mans Series with the Oreca 07 Gibson.
It is currently contesting the Michelin Le Mans Cup in both the LMP3 and LMGT3 divisions, as well as Intercontinental GT Challenge, but a move into the Hypercar category has been described as reinforcing the team’s “ambition to be part of the future of top-level endurance racing.”
“I am incredibly proud of the dedication and commitment shown by our team in Barcelona, which has been the foundation of our growth over the years,” said team owner Anders Fjordbach.
“Through hard work and perseverance, we have successfully partnered with multiple manufacturers and competed across a wide range of championships and categories on six continents around the world.
“Now, we are excited to embark on a new chapter with the Tipo 6 LMH-C, and there is no one better to take this journey with than our valued partners at Michelotto Engineering and Isotta Fraschini Milano.
“We have been highly impressed not only by the on-track performance of the Tipo 6 LMH-C, but also by the professionalism, passion, and dedication demonstrated by our new partners at Michelotto Engineering and Isotta Fraschini Milano.
“Together, we look forward to building a successful future and taking on new challenges at the highest level of endurance racing.”
No future series has been specified for the Tipo 6 LMH-C, but it could potentially contest the new Hypercar class that is due to be added to the Asian Le Mans Series later this season.
A two-car entry would be required for the car to make a return to the top tier of the WEC, a rule that was enforced since last year.
