Porsche Carrera Cup regular David Kolkmann has been drafted in as a last-minute temporary replacement for David Heinemeier Hansson at Silverstone, although Heinemeier Hansson could still race on Sunday.

The Dane is currently away from Silverstone as his wife is expecting a baby but he could come to the track for the rest of the weekend if she gives birth soon.

Kolkmann took part in Free Practice 1 on Heinemeier Hansson’s behalf, driving the No. 56 Project 1 Porsche 911 RSR alongside Egidio Perfetti and Matteo Cairoli.

Twenty-two-year-old Kolkmann has been competing in Porsche Carrera Cup Germany this year and finished third in Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama last year.

He’ll race on Sunday if Heinemeier Hansson can’t make it to the track in time for qualifying on Saturday, which gets underway at 11:50 a.m. local time.

Project 1’s No. 56 Porsche finished fourth in class in Free Practice 1.
