Nissan Publishes Super Bowl Ad Teaser

Nissan publishes first 10 secs to Super Bowl ad, to feature LMP1 unveil…

Nissan has published a teaser to its upcoming Super Bowl ad, which is expected to feature the launch of the manufacturer’s new LMP1 car.

The first ten seconds of the now-90 second ad spot was released today, which depicts a couple having a baby and images of the dad working as a race car driver mixed to a soundtrack of Harry Chapin’s iconic song, “Cat’s In the Cradle.”

“We can’t wait to share this emotional story with the Super Bowl audience and we hope seeing the first few seconds will whet America’s appetite to watch the spot during the game,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations U.S., Nissan North America.

“We think we’ve captured and told a touching story about a family’s struggles with work-life balance in our 90 seconds during the game. But what we really want is to start a conversation about family that lasts well beyond the game.”

The news release from Nissan said to expect two “surprise” products to make cameo appearances during the 90-second, $14.5 million ad spot.

Darren Cox, NISMO global head of brand, marketing & sales, did not explicitly confirm the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO’s scheduled launch date of Feb. 1, during the Super Bowl, but strongly hinted at it to Sportscar365 earlier this month.

“What’s the biggest TV audience in the world at any one time? It’s the Super Bowl. Not only that, but the buzz of the Super Bowl TV ads is worldwide,” he said.

The first images of what appear to be the car were leaked by Jalopnik last week.
