Sao Paulo Grid Taking Shape

An updated provisional entry list for the 6 Hours of São Paulo has been released with some of the teams confirming their driver line ups for the race on Sunday 1 September. Twenty-eight cars, two more than for the inaugural 6 Hours of São Paulo in 2012, have been entered for the South American round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Brazil’s Bruno Senna will now be joined in the LMGTE Pro no99 Aston Martin Racing Vantage V8 by Rob Bell after the British driver was confirmed by the team. The team mates for the other Brazilian driver Fernando Rees remain unchanged with Julien Canal and Patrick Bornhauser sharing the driving duties in the no50 Larbre Competition Chevrolet Corvette.

The final member of the Rebellion Racing Lola-Toyota driver line up in LMP1 will be Mathias Beche, the Swiss driver joining Nicolas Prost and Nick Heidfeld in their attempt to secure an overall podium against the mighty Audi and Toyota teams.

In LMP2 the drivers for the nine cars entered in the class are almost complete, with just the name of the third driver in the no45 Oak Racing Morgan yet to be announced. Robbie Kerr will re-join Tor Graves and James Walker in the race winning no25 Delta-ADR Oreca Nissan. Lotus-Praga has confirmed the driver line up of the no31 Lotus T128 with Kevin Weeda, Christophe Bouchut and James Rossiter. Greaves Motorsport will run their Zytek-Nissan for Christian Zugel and Gunnar Jeannette in Brazil.

In the seven car LMGTE Pro class Porsche will run their Le Mans-conquering 911s with two drivers rather than three, as previously announced. Jörg Bergmeister and Patrick Pilet will drive the no91 car while Marc Lieb and Richard Lietz will share the no92 Porsche. This leaves the no98 Aston Martin Vantage as the only entry with a three driver line up, with New Zealander Richie Stanaway confirmed alongside Pedro Lamy and Paul Dalla Lana.

In LMGTE Am, which features an eight car battle for the honours in Brazil, Italian Davide Rigon will join Enzo Potolicchio and Rui Aguas in the race-winning 8Star Motorsports Ferrari. Nicki Thiim will join fellow Danes Christoffer Nygaard and Kristian Poulsen in the no95 AMR Vantage V8, replacing the late Allan Simonsen.
