Job van Uitert will turn his first laps behind the wheel of an LMH car, joining Floyd Vanwall Racing Team at the FIA World Endurance Championship Rookie Test at Bahrain.

The Dutchman, who currently competes with the Panis Racing LMP2 squad in the European Le Mans Series, will pilot the No. 4 Vanwall Vandervell 680 Gibson at the test, which takes place at the Bahrain International Circuit the day after the season-ending 8 Hours of Bahrain.

Van Uitert last raced in WEC full-time during the 2021 campaign, when he joined Racing Team Nederland en route to the Dutch squad’s LMP2 Pro-Am title victory.

“I have been following Job’s career since he started in Formula 4,” said team principal Colin Kolles.

“He has impressed me with his performance, determination and consistency racing LMP2 prototypes.

“Throughout my motorsport career I have encouraged and supported talented young drivers and I am sure the Rookie Test provides an excellent opportunity for Job to demonstrate his skills in our Vanwall Hypercar.”

Vanwall announced on Tuesday that Ryan Briscoe will be joining the team for the 8 Hours of Bahrain, taking part in the season finale alongside Tristan Vautier and Esteban Guerrieri.

“I’m very pleased to be joining the Floyd Vanwall Racing Team for the Rookie Test in Bahrain,” said Van Uitert.

“It is a great next step in my career to have the opportunity to drive a Hypercar. I’d like to thank Dr. Colin Kolles for placing trust in me and I look forward to my first laps in the Vandervell 680.”
