Mercedes-AMG factory ace Mikhael Grenier will support GetSpeed Team PCX Racing’s title bid at this weekend’s inaugural Michelin 12H Nürburgring.
The No. 28 Team PCX Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo currently leads the Michelin 24H European Series standings going into the penultimate round of the season, just six points ahead of Hofor Racing.
Grenier, who won the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour earlier this year, will share driving duties with the regular lineup of Benjamin Paque, Jordan Boisson and Patrick Charlaix.
The maiden 12H Nürburgring will act as a home race for Mercedes-AMG stalwarts GetSpeed, which supports both the Team PCX machine and the Team JR286 car which currently sits second in the GT3-Am standings.
The No. 286 Mercedes-AMG will see Jonathan Hirshberg join full-season drivers Patrick Liddy, Tanner Harvey, and Steve Jans.
Hofor Racing, which took victory last time out at Paul Ricard, heads the GT3-Am standings. Chantal Prinz will return to the team, joining her husband Alexander Prinz and her father Michael Kroll, along with mainstay Torsten Kratz.
Ajith RedAnt Racing sits third in the overall points tally. Its No. 93 Mercedes-AMG will be manned by the usual squad of Ajith Kumar, Kobe de Breucker and brothers Yannick and Ayrton Redant.
Mercedes-AMG will be the most represented brand on the 30-car grid at the Nürburgring thanks to the No. 65 entry from Viper Niza Racing.
Grenier is not the only factory-supported talent to join the 12H Nürburgring grid as Porsche-contracted driver Joel Sturm will join reigning teams’ champions Proton Competition in the No. 73 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo.
The 2024 FIA World Endurance LMGT3 champion will drive alongside last year’s 24H European Series drivers’ champions Manuel Lauck, Constantin Dressler, Jörg Dreisow.
Up2Race will make its series debut at the Nürburgring with its No. 88 Porsche manned by Oleksiy Kikireshko, Tim Heinemann and Fabio Grosse.
Sainteloc Junior Team is tied for second place in the overall championship thanks to a win at the 12H Mugello at the beginning of the season. Ernst Inderbitzin is set to join the French team’s usual lineup of Pierre Kaffer, Michael Doppelmayr, Elia Erhart and Stephane Tribaudini.
Pellin Racing will make its return to the series with its No. 29 Ferrari 296 GT3. Full-season entrants Era Motorsport will once again campaign the Evo version of the Ferrari.
ARC Bratislava will compete with its Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO after missing the last event at Paul Ricard.
Winners in the GT3-Am class at Mugello, the sole Lamborghini on the grid will be driven by Miroslav Konopka, his sons Matej and Adam, as well as Zdeno Mikulasko.
In the 992 class, championship leaders Mühlner Motorsport are set to return with its No. 921 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. Full-season drivers Martin Rump and Conrad Tox Leveau will be joined by Joshua Bednarski.
The leading duo took back-to-back victories earlier in the season and hold a 16-point lead to the No. 909 Red Camel-Jordans.nl crew.
The Red Camel car will be driven by Fabian Danz, brothers Luc and Rik Breukers and their father Ivo. The quartet took a long-awaited victory in Paul Ricard to close the points gap at the head of the field.
Mühlner is also expected to campaign a second 992 class Porsche with Rolando Saca and Silvain Pastoris confirmed at the helm so far.
992-Am class leaders QMMF by HRT Performance will not contest the fourth round of the season. This will give the second-placed No. 888 Seblajoux Racing crew of Sebastien Lajoux, Stephane Perrin, Anthony Vince and Louis Perrot a chance to take the class lead at the Nürburgring.
The TCE-TCX will see three different cars entered by asBest Racing. The class-leading No. 102 Seat Leon Cup Racer will be joined by a Cupra TCR DSG and a Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport.
Class rivals Not Only Motorsport will not contend the 12H Nürburgring.
Neither will Vortex, which leads the GTX class after taking every victory so far this season. Instead, Keo Racing will make its series debut with a Ligier JS2 R as the only car in its class.
Bonk Motorsport will be the only GT4 entry with its No. 431 BMW M4 GT4 EVO.
The championship’s first visit to the Nürburgring GP circuit will take place on July 3-5.
Qualifying will kick off on Friday ahead of the opening six hours of the race on Saturday, followed by the second half of the race on Sunday.
