T3 Motorsport has announced its participation in the DTM with a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo for Esteban Muth.

The German squad, which ran Bentley and Audi machinery in ADAC GT Masters last year, brings a fifth full-time brand to the grid after Audi, Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari and BMW. McLaren is also entered through a part-season program for JP Motorsport.

T3 switched to Lamborghini for its 2021 program and will run three examples of the Huracan GT3 Evo in GT Masters alongside its new DTM endeavor.

Belgian teenager Muth is set for his DTM debut. He contested some GT4 European Series races last year and also contested the 2019 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup round at Barcelona in Strakka Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3.

Muth’s single-seater background includes stints in French Formula 4 and the Toyota Racing Series where he finished fifth in the 2019 standings behind DTM drivers Liam Lawson and Lucas Auer.

“We submitted the entry on Saturday,” said T3 Motorsport team principal Jens Feucht.

“For T3 Motorsport, it is a milestone in the team’s young history. It is a big step into the future, which it is particularly important to be part of the DTM right from the start, with the adjusted technical regulations.

“A very special thank you goes to our shareholders, who have also placed their trust in me for this major project. We would also like to thank our vehicle partner Lamborghini. They promote and support us in the DTM project as well.

“We will do everything to ensure that we can perform well and celebrate successes together.”

T3 Motorsport also plans to enter the DTM Trophy support series which involves GT4-based machinery. The team also runs two Audi R8 LMS GT4s in ADAC GT4 Germany.
