Lexus has confirmed that Farnbacher Racing and Emil Frey Racing will take part in selected races of International GT Open this year with the new-generation Lexus RC F GT3.
The two teams, which initially developed the Japanese-built GT3 contender on the Nurburgring Nordschleife in VLN competition last year, will again lead the European race program, with a focus on GT Open rounds. However, other races haven’t yet been ruled out.
The 2017-spec RC F GT3 claimed victory in its race debut in VLN last year with Dominik and Mario Farnbacher, who are expected to continue as co-drivers of the Farnbacher entry.
3GT Racing, meanwhile, gave the car its maiden 24-hour race outing in last month’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona, ahead of a full-season two-car GT Daytona class effort, with Team LM Corsa set to run in Super GT.
