After a day dominated by Ferraris, a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 topped the time sheets in the second practice session for Friday’s Gulf 12 Hours.
Jeroen Bleekemolen peddled the No. 3 Team Abu Dhabi by Black Falcon Merc to a best time of 2:11.885 in the 80-minute session. The Dutchman edged out the No. 12 Kessel Racing Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 by 0.099 seconds.
The No. 15 Slamstop Motorsport Ferrari was third on the time sheets, ahead of the No. 14 Kessel entry. Two-time and defending race winners AF Corse completed the top-five overall and in the GT3 class.
The debuting M-Sport Bentley Continental GT3 was 8th on the time charts with a 2:21.701 lap time.
The top-12 times were set by GT3 cars, with the No. 97 BF Motorsport Wolf GB08 the quickest of the CN cars.
Yesterday’s overall pace-setting Avelon Formula Wolf prototype was reportedly 70 kg underweight and did not set a time this morning.
A third and final practice session is scheduled for 11:40 a.m. local.
