Porsche has confirmed plans to return to the Nürburgring 24 with an all-factory lineup, with nine Porsche 911 GT3 Rs expected to contest the German endurance classic next year.
The German manufacturer will again field a pair of Manthey Racing-run entries, featuring a stacked driving squad.
Earl Bamber, Laurens Vanthoor, Kevin Estre and Patrick Pilet will pilot the No. 911 Porsche, with Romain Dumas, Richard Lietz, Fred Makowieki and Nick Tandy in the No. 912 entry.
A total of 13 factory drivers and four Young Professionals will tackle the May 12-13 race, with at least seven other customer Porsches expected to be on the grid as well.
The announcement came Saturday evening during Porsche’s annual ‘Night of Champions’ celebration, which has seen expanded commitments to the Blancpain GT Series and Intercontinental GT Challenge with the manufacturer’s GT3-spec contender.
