Mirco Schultis was quickest overall following a pair of practice sessions ahead of the fifth and sixth rounds of the GT America powered by AWS championship at Sebring.

Schultis set a 2:03.226 lap time in his No. 70 Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R, topping the timing screens in the second practice session on Saturday morning.

He was 0.228 seconds ahead of Tony Davis in the HP-TECH Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo.

Davis edged out Ross Chouest in the No. 50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R.

Despite finishing third in the second practice session of the weekend, Chouest had topped the first GTA practice on Friday afternoon and was the only driver to set a sub-2:04 lap time in that session. He would blitz this time in Practice 2 by 0.478 seconds.

Lap times in the second practice session were significantly quicker than the opening session of the weekend, with the six fastest cars dipping below the 2:04 lap time threshold.

Championship leader Memo Gidley was fourth fastest overall in his No. 56 SKI Autosports Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.

Gidley, who will campaign the sole Audi in the field for this weekend’s event, holds a 52-point advantage in the SR03 standings over Kyle Washington in the GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo.

Washington was just 0.039 seconds behind his championship rival in the overall practice times.

The only GT2 class entry in the field this weekend is the Ginetta G56 GT2 of Dollahite Racing. Ginetta chairman Lawrence Tomlinson is at the wheel of the car as it makes its SRO America debut.

Tomlinson set a fastest time of 2:06.847 in the first practice of the weekend, but did not set a lap time in the second session.

Jason Bell was quickest in the GT4 class with his No. 2 Racers Edge Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

The Cup class was led by David Lecko and the No. 89 RacingSupport Ginetta GTP8.

Qualifying is up next at 10:55 a.m. EST on Saturday morning, followed by Race 1 at 15:35 a.m. EST.

The second competition of the weekend kicks off at 10:10 a.m. EST on Sunday.

Both 40-minute races will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
