FIA World Endurance Championship LMP2 entrant High Class Racing has added a Fanatec GT2 European Series program with Audi machinery to its schedule for 2021.

The Danish outfit, which is confirmed to run a Pro-Am Oreca 07 Gibson in the WEC for Jan Magnussen, Anders Fjordbach and Dennis Andersen, will also field an Audi R8 LMS GT2 within the SRO Motorsports Group’s revamped GT Sports Club structure.

High Class has yet to name its driver lineup for the new GT2 European Series.

Each event of the five-round championship will consist of two 50-minute races for single or two-driver entries.

The GT2 European Series will operate under the amateur driver-focused GT Sports Club umbrella, alongside the newly-launched GT Rebellion Series for GT3 machinery.

Cars from Audi, Porsche, KTM and Lamborghini are eligible to compete in the GT2 competition.

“We are adding to High Class Racing’s growth in sports car racing, which is a continuously evolving market,” said High Class Racing team manager Nicolaj Johansen.

“We are excited to engage with SRO Motorsports Group, who have proven themselves as a dominant factor in the GT world, both regionally and globally.

“We’ve had the Fanatec GT2 European Series on our radar, as we needed a racing series which could bridge the gap between our academy and our prototype programs.

“GT2 offers highly competitive racing on major circuits around Europe so it is a great match for us, and I am sure that it’ll offer a lot of fun too.”

High Class Racing has competed in LMP2 since 2017 when it ran a Dallara P217 Gibson in the European Le Mans Series for Fjordbach and Andersen.

After two campaigns with the Dallara, the team switched to Oreca machinery and also added a WEC program to its stable for the 2019-20 season.
