A total of 36 entries are set for this weekend’s Pirelli GT4 America rounds at Road America, with the Silver class championship-leading Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4 poised for a driver change.
John Capestro-Dubets, who sustained an accident at Road America during the recent Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America event, is currently not listed to take part this weekend alongside regular co-driver Zac Anderson.
Anderson’s co-driver for this weekend’s pair of 60-minute races has not yet been announced.
Capestro-Dubets and Anderson currently hold a 22-point lead over Conquest Racing/JMF Motorsports’ Jesse Webb and Michai Stephens in the title race, ahead of Randon Vandals Racing’s Kenton Koch and Kevin Boehm in third.
The Silver class is poised to feature eight cars this weekend, with the return of Van der Steur Racing’s Aston Martin Vantage GT4 for Rory van der Steur and Jamie Day, along with the expected participation of Hanley Motorsports’ Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO, after being withdrawn from the last round at Virginia International Raceway.
Pro-Am sees a significantly tighter points battle, led by BimmerWorld’s Tyler McQuarrie and James Walker Jr., who are just two points ahead of the Nolasport duo of Matt Travis and Jason Hart, with Aaron Povoledo and Ross Chouest a further seven points behind in third.
Road America will also see the return of the No. 35 Conquest/JMF Mercedes, driven by Custodio Toledo and Cedric Sbirrazzuoli.
Charlie Postens and James Clay of BimmerWorld, meanwhile, hold command in the Am class, which will see the addition of Crucial Motorsports’ McLaren Artura GT4 for Nick Longhi and Kaia Teo.
Cars will be on track for the first time on Thursday with a pair of test sessions, followed by official track action on Friday with two practice sessions, qualifying on Saturday followed by Race 1 at 5 p.m. CDT and Race 2 on Sunday at 10:55 a.m., both which will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube page.
