Tyler Gonzalez will step up from Toyota GR Cup to Pirelli GT4 America competition this year, having been confirmed in Smooge Racing’s Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO alongside John Geesbreght.

Gonzalez, who won the inaugural title in Toyota’s single-make series last year, will replace team principal Kevin Conway in the team’s No. 68 entry, which will compete in the Silver class.

Both Geesbreght and Gonzalez are part of the Toyota driver development program.

“John and Tyler have both had a lot of success in SRO as well as anything they have raced and I am confident they will be a very strong pairing,” said Conway.

“We are fully focused on competing for wins and the championship this year – anything less is not acceptable.”

Additional lineups have yet to be announced for the multi championship-winning organization.

Smooge is set to field multiple entries in GT4 America and the SRO America-sanctioned GR Cup, having kicked off its year at Daytona International Speedway entering Toyota NASCAR drivers in a GR Supra GT4 in Michelin Pilot Challenge action.

“We had a great season last year as we expanded into GR Cup and continued success with our current entries across SRO and other series,” said Conway.

“We are building on that foundation as we are fielding multiple GR Supra GT4 EVOs along with GR86s in the GR Cup series, and look forward on what’s to come in 2024.

“We will have some fun surprise driver lineups throughout the year with some great drivers.”
