Lewis Takes GT4 Sprint Pole at Road America

Shane Lewis has stormed to the pole for this afternoon’s first Pirelli GT4 America Sprint race of the weekend at Road America.

Lewis took his No. 72 Robinson Racing Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R to a fast lap of 2:17.412, edging out championship leader Ian James by 0.203 seconds.

Michael Cooper qualified third in the No. 10 Blackdog Speed Shop McLaren 570S GT4, as the team looks to rebound from a challenging weekend at Watkins Glen.

The No. 66 TRG Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport of Spencer Pumpelly will start fourth, ahead of Andrew Davis, making a cameo appearance in GT4 Sprint competition this weekend, who completed the top-five in his No. 81 Kelly Moss Road-and-Race Audi R8 LMS GT4.

GT4 Sprint Am class pole honors went to Alan Brynjolfsson in the No. 7 Park Place Motorsports Porsche, who set the seventh quickest time overall, just 0.070 seconds ahead of Drew Staveley’s No. 12 Ian Lacy Racing Ford Mustang GT4.

Race 1 gets underway at 1:10 p.m. CT with live streaming coverage on the series’ official website.
