Daniel Juncadella will replace Felipe Fraga in Team AKKA-ASP’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo in this weekend’s Indianapolis 8 Hour powered by AWS due to visa issues for the Brazilian driver.

Confirmed by the French squad on Monday, Juncadella will join Raffaele Marciello and Timur Boguslavskiy at the wheel of the Pro class entry in the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli round.

In an ironic twist, the Spaniard had been replaced by Fraga in the last two Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup rounds due to his DTM commitments with GruppeM Racing.

Fraga had previous visa-related issues that forced him out of the cockpit in the opening IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship races of this season, which had been resolved.
