A total of 13 entries including four cars each from BMW, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche have been nominated to score Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli points at this weekend’s Indianapolis 8 Hour.

BMW has maxed out its allowance of three Pro cars that can be selected to collect points for the IGTC manufacturers’ championship. Only the top two IGTC cars from each manufacturer can score, even if the third car finishes also in the top ten.

Bimmerworld’s BMW M4 GT3 for Bill Auberlen, Robby Foley and Chandler Hull is registered along with the two Team WRT cars driven by BMW factory driver lineups.

The ST Racing BMW competing in the Pro-Am class is also available to score.

BMW’s IGTC title challenger Mercedes-AMG only has two cars in the Pro class at Indianapolis and both of them are signed up to collect points.

IGTC drivers’ championship leader Jules Gounon is piloting Craft-Bamboo Racing’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo while second-placed Luca Stolz is with GruppeM Racing.

Mercedes-AMG has also nominated Pro-Am competitors CrowdStrike by Riley and DXDT Racing as contingencies in case either of the Pro machines encounters trouble.

Porsche’s four-car nomination is split between the Pro entries from Wright Motorsports and MDK Motorsports, and the Pro-Am efforts from Grove Racing and Huber Motorsport.

Unlike the other German brands, Porsche does not have any full-season Pro entries in IGTC, meaning that its representation in the top class at Indy comes from local American teams.

BMW, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche have all nominated the maximum of four IGTC points-paying cars, while the additional 13th entry comes from an Independent Cup effort.

Jonathan Hui can secure the Independent Cup title this weekend in the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo that he is sharing with Sky-Tempesta Racing co-drivers Eddie Cheever and Chris Froggatt.

The Grove and Huber Porsches are also involved in the amateur driver-focused Independent Cup through Stephen Grove and Antares Au.

As announced last week, a field of 22 cars will contest the fourth edition of the Indy 8 Hour.
