Mercedes-AMG factory driver and Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli points leader Jules Gounon will reunite with 2 Seas Motorsport for the upcoming Gulf 12 Hours.

Gounon raced with the Bahrain-flagged team in the Intelligent Money British GT Championship this past season, taking a race win at Oulton Park teaming with Ian Loggie.

He will pilot the No. 14 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo alongside fellow factory drivers Maximilian Goetz and Fabian Schiller.

The Andorran driver leads the IGTC drivers’ standings with a narrow, four-point lead over BMW driver Philipp Eng, who will team with Charles Weerts and Sheldon van der Linde at the twelve-hour enduro at Yas Marina Circuit.

“I am very happy to be able to be racing for 2 Seas Motorsport in Abu Dhabi,” said Gounon.

“I know the team well, as we raced together in British GT this year. We were able to rack up a race win, several more podium results and a pole position.

“We had many highs and also a few lows, but we always worked together well as a team, with the result that 2 Seas Motorsport won the team championship.

“I am really looking forward to being able to race together with my team-mates and friends Maximilian Goetz and Fabian Schiller. Of course, I hope that we will do a good job and remain in contention for the championship.”

2 Seas will field a second car for Loggie, Isa Al Khalifa and Al Faisal al Zubair, while Mercedes-AMG is represented by two further cars in the Pro class from GruppeM Racing.

Luca Stolz, fourth in the drivers’ standings, will share the No. 99 Mercedes-AMG with Maro Engel and Mikael Grenier.

Lucas Auer, meanwhile, will team with Lorenzo Ferrari and Frank Bird aboard the No. 77 car after Bird and Ferrari were selected following the German manufacturer’s end-of-year Young Driver Test.

The brand’s fourth nominated entry, eligible to score IGTC manufacturers’ points, is the No. 75 SunEnergy1 Racing car featuring a returning Kenny Habul.

Habul will return to racing for the first time since his crash in Pre-Qualifying ahead of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa and is joined by Martin Konrad, Dominik Baumann and Philip Ellis.
