Racers Edge Motorsports is the latest team to commit to the inaugural California 8 Hours, with the Pirelli World Challenge GTS squad confirming plans to enter two SIN R1 GT4s for the Intercontinental GT Challenge round in October.

The Florida-based team, which also serves as the North American distributor for the car, has yet to announce drivers for the planned effort.

Per event rules, each GT4 entry will be required to have three drivers, with a maximum of one Gold or Platinum-rated driver and at least one Bronze.

“The opportunity to run the SIN R1 GT4 in longer races just has immense appeal for us,” said team manager Jon Mirachi.

“The SIN has racked up seven wins in Pirelli World Challenge competition, so it’s proven to be a competitive GT4 machine.

“Additionally, the cars are over-built and with power steering, ABS and traction control, should be well suited to longer races. Combine our endurance racing background with the success of the SIN in sprint races, and we really look forward to competing in an 8-Hour race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.”

Racers Edge joins fellow PWC squads GMG Racing and ANSA Motorsports with announced efforts, with additional teams also currently finalizing plans for the Oct. 13-15 event at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
