Jeff Cook led a GMG Racing 1-2 in the second McLaren Trophy America practice session of the weekend at the Miami International Autodrome.

Cook, in the No. 5 McLaren Artura Trophy EVO, reeled off a best lap of 1:57.595 to outpace reigning McLaren Trophy Europe Pro champion Michael O’Brien by 0.274 seconds.

Cook’s Am class entry was ahead of the Pro-Am class-leading entry, with Thursday pace-setter James Li setting the third quickest time overall and best of the Pro class competitors.

Jon Miller and Patrick Liddy completed the overall top-five, both in Forte Racing McLarens.

The session was briefly halted for the No. 21 TechSport Racing McLaren of Colin Harrison, which stopped on track.

Track action restarted with five minutes left on the clock.

Qualifying is on tap for Saturday at 1:45 p.m. EST, ahead of Race 1 at 6 p.m. EST, which will be streamed live on the SRO GT World and McLaren Automotive YouTube channels.
