The second McLaren Trophy America race of the weekend at Miami International Autodrome has been canceled due to weather.

Originally scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m EST, the 40-minute contest was moved up by 30 minutes in a revised schedule released last night by event organizers.

Teams were greeted to heavy rain this morning, and shelter-in-place alerts, with lightning in the area of the Hard Rock Stadium venue.

A statement from McLaren read: “Due to heavy rain and thunderstorms in the area, Race Four of McLaren Trophy America has been postponed. We will look to run the race at a future event.”

The next round for the SRO America-run single-make series is at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on June 12-14.
