Brendan Iribe claimed a commanding victory in the first GT America powered by AWS race of the weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The Inception Racing driver, in his return to SRO America competition, took the No. 70 McLaren 720S GT3 to a 36.789-second victory over newly crowned series champion Charlie Luck in the No. 45 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R.

It marked his third series win out of five starts this season.

Having started on pole, Iribe led every lap of the 40-minute race, which began with a false start and included an early full-course caution for the beached Ginetta G56 of Matt Rivard.

The No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche of Kyle Washington completed the overall podium in third after hold off Jason Harward’s No. 88 Zelus Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo in the closing stages.

Andy Wilzoch completed the top-five overall in his Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche.

The No. 8 GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS GT2 of Elias Sabo — competing as the only GT2 class entry — finished seventh overall.

Sebring race winner Memo Gidley suffered misfortune on the grid and later in the race after taking his TKO Motorsports Bentley Continental GT3 from the rear of the field to fourth by Lap 4.

However, a loose hood forced the car to the pit lane for repairs.

GT4 class honors went to the No. 2 GMG Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 of Jason Bell, who finished 4.086 seconds ahead of Gray Newell in the No. 25 The Heart of Racing Aston Martin.

Championship rival Sean Quinlan completed the class podium in third aboard the Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4.

The final round of the season is set for Saturday at 12:05 p.m. ET.
