Wood to Complete GR Cup Season With Precision Racing LA

Rutledge Wood will return to Toyota GR Cup North America competition for the remainder of the season, beginning with this weekend’s pair of races at Road America, driving for Precision Racing LA.

The former ‘Top Gear USA’ and Netflix’s ‘Floor Is Lava’ host will made selected starts last year in the SRO America-run single-make series and will return with a new car number, No. 34, as a tribute to the drivers who inspired him to make the leap into the series: world-renowned championship racer and fellow Top Gear U.S. host Tanner Foust (34); friend, champion racer and coach Ryan Eversley (43); and “The King,” Richard Petty (43).

“I am beyond words excited to be back racing with my friends at PRLA,” said Wood.

“One of the most special things I’ve done in my career was racing with this team last year, with my boy Ryan Eversley coaching me. I am so excited to be back for a few great race weekends with this amazing team, my coach, and the support of Toyota & Toyota Racing. I know it’s going to be incredible.”

Wood delivered several standout performances in the Legends Cup last year in his series debut.

He earned back-to-back WWEX Group Highest Finishing Legend honors in Rounds 11 and 12 at Barber Motorsports Park and at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Wood captured two third place class finishes.

“Everyone at PRLA is thrilled to have Rut return during the 2026 GR cup season,” said Eversley. “We’re thankful to Toyota for trusting us with Rut’s racing endeavors and hoping to get back on the podium like we did last season.
