Kohlbecker Looking for Rebound at Road America

Spike Kohlbecker will be looking to rebound in the return of Toyota GR Cup North America competition this weekend at Road America, after a DNF last time out.

The TechSport Racing driver lost ground on title rival Jeremy Fletcher in Race 2 at Road Atlanta when he and Malbec Ramos came together at the Esses, ending his seven-race podium streak.

It allowed Fletcher to claw back 15 points on Kohlbecker heading into the Road America double-header, with the margin now at 45 points with six races to go.

RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate’s Will Robusto remains in the championship hunt, entering the weekend third, and only six points behind Fletcher, who had a weekend to forget at Sonoma Raceway with non-points finishes in both races.

Max Schweid and Parker Delong, who will be making his Pirelli GT4 America debut this weekend, round out the top-five in points.

A total of 29 Toyota GR86 Cup cars are entered for the weekend, including the return of Rutledge Wood, who will be making his first start of the season in one of Precision Racing LA’s entries.

Both Paityn Feyen and Stone Colby have been added to Copeland’s arsenal, with Feyen making her first start since Circuit of The Americas in April.

GR Cup track action begins on Thursday with a single practice session, followed by a second practice on Friday, Qualifying 1 and Race 1 (4:15 p.m. CST) on Saturday, followed by Qualifying 2 and Race 2 (12 p.m. CST) on Sunday.

Both races will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on GRCup.com.
