Rodrigo Baptista paced Friday’s second and final practice session for GT World Challenge America powered by AWS at Road America.
The Squadra Corse driver reeled off a best lap of 2:07.246 in the 60-minute session, which was run in full dry conditions after a near-complete rainout in the morning.
Baptista was 0.270 seconds quicker than the No. 04 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Colin Braun, who was second.
Indy Dontje, in his GTWC America debut, put the No. 33 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 in third, ahead of the No. 63 DXDT Mercedes of Ryan Dalziel in fourth.
The No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo of Trent Hindman and Shelby Blackstock completed the top-five overall, second quickest in the Silver class.
A total of eight cars turned laps in the session, including two GT Sports Club America entries, which was led by the No. 31 TR3 Racing Ferrari of Mark Issa.
Issa, in a GT3-spec Ferrari, has been a late addition to the Sports Club grid.
Ryan Gates was the only GT2 class driver to set a time in the class, with neither GMG Racing entries setting times.
