Ryan Eversley has taken the pole position for the third round of the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge season, the first of two races on the streets of St. Petersburg, courtesy of a flier on a wet 1.8-mile street course.
Eversley, who drove from 25th to fifth in Round 2 at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas, again parlayed the all-wheel drive No. 43 RealTime Racing Acura TLX-GT to his advantage.
He set a fast lap of 1:23.434 for his first GT class pole, and his fourth overall in the championship.
Round 2 winner Kevin Estre, in the No. 9 K-PAX Racing with Flying Lizard Motorsports McLaren 650S GT3, was second at 1:23.956.
The rest of the top five includes Ryan Dalziel at 1:24.934 in the No. 31 EFFORT Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, James Davison at 1:25.172 in the No. 33 AE Nissan GT Academy Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 and Robert Thorne at 1:25.429 in the No. 6 K-PAX Racing with Flying Lizard Motorsports McLaren 650S GT3.
Round 1 winner Olivier Beretta qualified sixth with Nick Catsburg, the double pole winner at COTA, in ninth.
Bryan Heitkotter was the fastest classified GTA driver in qualifying, 11th overall at 1:26.921 in the No. 05 AE Nissan GT Academy Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3
Colin Thompson, in the No. 11 Kelly-Moss Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, scored his third consecutive pole position in the GT Cup presented by MOMO class (1:32.008).
