Gottsacker Takes GTS Pole at Mid-Ohio

Harry Gottsacker put his Performance Motorsports Group Ginetta G55 on pole position for the first Pirelli World Challenge GTS race of the weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course by nearly four tenths of a second over his closest competitor.

Gottsacker’s fast lap of 1:28:084 was 0.399 seconds quicker than second-place Lawson Aschenbach in the No. 10 Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R and 0.481 seconds faster than Ernie Francis Jr. who will start third in the No. 40 Ford Mustang for PF Racing.

Parker Chase will start fourth in his Ginetta, followed by Martin Barkey’s KTM Xbow GT4 in fifth.

Jason Bell took GTA honors in the No. 2 SIN R1 GT4 for Racers Edge Motorsports and will start sixth overall. George Kurtz and Tony Gaples qualified second and third in GTA and will start ninth and tenth overall, respectively.

The 30-minute qualifying session ran without major incident.

Race 1 of the weekend for the GTS competitors is scheduled for 10:55 a.m. ET on Saturday morning from Mid-Ohio.
