R. Ferri Motorsport led the way Friday’s second and final practice session for tomorrow’s Pirelli World Challenge GT SprintX season-opener at Circuit of The Americas.

The No. 61 Ferrari 488 GT3 of Toni Vilander and Miguel Molina topped the 50-minute session, thanks to a 2:06.859 lap time set late in the running.

It pipped the No. 41 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R of Mathieu Jaminet and Alec Udell by 0.015 seconds.

The Udell and Jaminet-driven was atop the time sheets for the majority of the session.

Vilander’s time, however, was four-tenths slower than Andy Soucek’s 2:06.463 lap time from the morning, which topped Friday’s overall time charts for K-PAX Racing.

The No. 2 CRP Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Daniel Morad was third quickest in Practice 2, followed by the Pro-Am class-leading No. 3 K-PAX Bentley Continental GT3, which features factory driver Maxime Soulet this weekend.

Scott Hargrove and Wolf Henzler, meanwhile, completed the top-five in the championship-leading No. 96 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche.

The No. 07 Squadra Corse Garage Italia Ferrari paced GT3-Am with the 11th quickest time overall, while the No. 99 AM Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car again paced GT Cup.

Qualifying is set to get underway Saturday at 10:15 a.m. CT.
