Rebel Rock Racing is set to make its GT World Challenge America powered by AWS debut, as part of a 22-car entry list for this weekend’s second round of the season at Circuit of The Americas.

The longtime IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge entrant, which announced a step up to GT3 competition with an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo late last year, will join the Pro-Am ranks with Robin Liddell and Frank DePew as drivers.

It has bolstered the GTWC America grid, which saw an initial 20 car-entry list but only 18 starters for last month’s season-opener at Sonoma Raceway.

Among the other additions for COTA include a Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo for Riccardo Agostini and Sebastian Mascaro, also in Pro-Am, and the return of Lone Star Racing with its Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo for Marc Austin and Jason Golan in the Am class.

Additionally, the No. 88 Kellymoss Porsche of of Loek Hartog and John Gilliland is slated to make its first start of the season after the car was withdrawn from the Sonoma event due to an accident in testing.

The other change since Sonoma is a revised lineup in TR3 Racing’s Mercedes-AMG, which sees Daniel Morad replace Will Bamber alongside Brayton Williams, marking the Canadian driver’s highly anticipated return to SRO America competition for the remainder of the season.

JMF Motorsports’ Michai Stevens and Mikael Grenier head into the weekend with a seven-point lead over the AF Corse duo of Frederik Schandorff and Matias Perez Companc, who finished runner-up in first three-hour feature race of the season.

Pro-Am sees GMG Racing’s Tom Sargent and Kyle Washington at the top of the leaderboard, following a breakout weekend for the Porsche Motorsport North America Selected Driver, who set the outright fastest lap in both qualifying and the race.

Track action kicks off on Friday with a 90-minute test session, followed by a paid Bronze test and opening practice in the late afternoon. Two additional practice sessions are on tap for Saturday, before qualifying on Sunday morning ahead of Round 2 of the season, which gets underway at 12:30 p.m. CST, with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
