Reiter Engineering Establishes U.S. Base; Seeks Drivers

Although not listed on the first entry list for Circuit of the Americas released Thursday, Reiter Engineering still is on target to enter the Pirelli World Challenge this season.

The German organization announced Friday that it is establishing a U.S. base in College Corner, near Indianapolis. The new location will be very close to Kettler Motor Werks, which supports Audi Sport customer racing in the U.S.

From the new base, Reiter Engineering will supply its North American customers with spare parts for all three in-house developed and manufactured racecars, and offers corresponding services. It will also serve as the team’s race hub.

The team has announced its intentions to campaign the new Lamborghini Gallardo Extenso R-EX, SaReNi United Camaro GT3 and the new KTM X-Bow, but has not confirmed programs yet for any of them in PWC.

In partnership with Reiter, 3R Motorsports will manage the SaReNi Camaro GT3 in the series. Currently the group is looking for an interested funded driver and partners to run the car in the series.

“This is pretty exciting being the team to bring the Reiter Camaro to the U.S., last year we were the first for McLaren,” said 3R Racing’s Bob Raub. “I started my professional driving career in 1980 in a Camaro. We have been in World Challenge for 14 straight years, now we just need some funding to make this happen.”

3R Racing is no longer working in partnership with K-PAX Racing, as it had done previously.

Reiter Engineering ran Marcelo Hahn for a full season, and selected races with Tomas Enge, Albert von Thurn und Taxis and Andy Lee in 2014, with the previous generation Reiter Engineering Lamborghini Gallardo FL2.
