IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship driver Klaus Bachler will lead Pure Rxcing’s driver lineup for the Porsche team’s Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup debut.

The Austrian, who drives for Pfaff Motorsports in GTD Pro, has spent the last four Endurance Cup seasons in the Pro class but will switch to the new Bronze Cup category for the upcoming five-round campaign that includes the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.

His co-drivers in the No. 911 Porsche 911 GT3 R will be Joel Sturm and Alex Malykhin.

Both Sturm and Malykhin previously drove for Porsche squad Allied-Racing, however they lined up in different cars.

Malykhin will also contest the GTWC Europe Sprint Cup season with Pure Rxcing, teaming up with ADAC GT Masters runner-up Ayhancan Guven.

Bachler joins Pure after making his Endurance Cup debut in 2019 with Dinamic Motorsport, followed by a season at ROWE Racing and two more years driving for Dinamic. He won three races with the Italian squad, including the 2022 Barcelona finale.

Bachler is set to complete the full Endurance Cup season because there are no date clashes with his GTD Pro commitments, although he is unable to contest the Sprint Cup because of three WeatherTech Championship overlaps.

Pure Rxcing’s GTWC Europe program will be run with technical support from Herberth Motorsport, which recently assisted the Lithuanian team’s Asian Le Mans Series and Hankook 24H Dubai entries. Manthey Racing will also be involved in the project.
