As revealed by Sportscar365, BMW Team Brasil will expand into the Blancpain Endurance Series in 2015, the team confirmed on Thursday.

The Antonio Hermann and Washington Bezerra-led squad will once again field two BMW Z4 GT3s in the Blancpain Sprint Series, and enter the same cars in the five-round Endurance Series.

“The most important thing is that we will continue,” Hermann said. “Next year we will also enter the Endurance Series, which means 12 races instead of seven with two cars.”

By adding the endurance races to its program, the team is now eligible to score the full amount of prize money on offer (100,000 Euros per round) in the overall Blancpain GT Series, instead of the 50 percent being paid to teams entered only in the Sprint or Endurance Series.

After narrowly missing out on a break through victory in the Slovakia Ring Main Race and finishing fourth in the BSS team’s championship, the team is now aiming to fight for the title in its third season in SRO’s Sprint Series.

“We are looking at some things and studying the possibilities. I believe that if we have a better equalization of the BOP and SRO changes some things, next year we will have more chances to fight for victories,” Bezerra said.

“This season was much better than last year, in every respect. The team has evolved a lot and is much more homogeneous than before.

“We were competitive throughout the year and the results also followed. Our mechanics also won the Pit Stop Challenge on two occasions.”

No drivers were confirmed at this stage, although the team has a large roster of Brazilian drivers to choose from.
