Castellacci Switches to AF Corse to chase Pro-Am Title

Francesco Castellacci will join AF Corse for this weekend’s Blancpain Endurance Series season finale at the Nürburgring.

Following Andrea Rizzoli’s improved driver classification from Bronze to Silver, the Pro-Am Cup leading crew of the No. 90 Scuderia Villorba Corse Ferrari had to be altered, leaving Castellacci to look for other options.

Rizzoli, Castellacci and Stefano Gai currently hold a twelve-point lead over the British trio Andrew Smith, Alasdair McCaig and Oliver Bryant, driving the No. 79 Ecurie Ecosse BMW.

Castellacci (Silver) switches to the team that took him to the 2011 European FIA GT3 title, as he’ll compete at the wheel of the No. 52 AF Corse Ferrari.

The 27-year-old Italian will be joined by former GT Corse by Rinaldi-driver Marco Seefried and Danish GT-specialist Johnny Laursen, currently second in the ELMS GTC drivers’ standings.

Meanwhile, 53-year-old Italian Thomas Kemenater (Bronze) replaces Castellacci at Villorba Corse.
