Pro GT Porsche Tops Free Practice at Paul Ricard

The No. 93 Pro GT by Almeras Porsche 997 GT3-R came out on top after the 90-minute Blancpain Endurance Series Free Practice session at Paul Ricard.

Silverstone pole-sitter Franck Perera bettered Henry Hassid’s TDS Racing BMW time of this morning by almost 1.5 seconds, putting one of only two Porsches competing in the series on top.

Both the No. 35 and No. 80 Nissan GT Academy Team RJN Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3s delivered some quick times early on and ended the session in the top five, with Katsumaso Chiyo second fastest, 0.706s shy of Perera’s benchmark.

Christopher Mies confirmed Audi’s pace by posting the third quickest time (+0.893s) in front of the Oman Racing Team Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 in the hands of Michael Caine.

The No. 7 M-Sport Bentley Continental GT3 that won the second round at Silverstone managed a ninth time, 1.359s off the pace, while the championship leading No. 99 ART GP McLaren MP4-12C GT3 of Estre – Korjus – Soucek ended up in P12 (+1.438s).

On track action resumes later today with another 90-minute (Pre Qualifying) session.
