Bhai Tech is aiming to expand its international GT program in 2015, as the team looks to compete in the combined Blancpain GT Series, adding the Endurance races to its schedule next year (En Français).
The Italian team was founded in 2011 to compete in the Italian GT Championship and went on to claim the International GT Open GTS (GT3) titles with former F1 driver Giorgio Pantano in 2013.
Heading into this season, a last minute deal meant Bhai Tech switched to the Blancpain Sprint Series, where the team led by Fernando Bada focused on learning as much as possible, a surrounding that was clearly more competitive than the International GT Open.
“We wanted to take our brands to the Blancpain Sprint Series before taking the next step. In 2015, we want to add the Endurance races while remaining in Sprint,” said Managing Director Keith Parmar.
Given its links with McLaren, it is not expected Bhai Tech will change brands for next season.
“We will compete with McLaren in 2015. The only question is whether it will be with the MP4-12C or the new 650S GT3. The decision will be made in December.
“2014 has been a learning season. In 2015, we will discover the 24 Hours of Spa.”
As for the drivers, Giorgio Pantano should continue with Bhai Tech. Nothing is defined for the longer term, even if Bhai Tech intends to stay in GT.
