BMW Motorsport has confirmed ROWE Racing’s driver lineups for the 2016 edition of the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
BMW is returning to the Ardennes to defend the title won last year, when the BMW Z4 GT3 triumphed in its last major 24-hour race, with the full season ROWE Racing BMW M6 GT3s receiving additional support.
The No. 99’s regular lineup of Philipp Eng and Alexander Sims will be joined by Maxime Martin, the Belgian BMW DTM ace is chasing a first win in his home race.
Stef Dusseldorp, Dirk Werner and Nick Catsburg will share driving duties behind the wheel of the No. 98 car, the latter defending the title he secured with Marc VDS Racing in 2015.
“Returning to Spa-Francorchamps is a bit special after our win there last year,” says BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt.
“It was a great way for the BMW Z4 GT3 2015 to leave endurance racing and now we want to celebrate a successful start for the BMW M6 GT3 in Spa-Francorchamps.
“ROWE Racing is competing with six fast and experienced drivers. We are really looking forward to this challenge in the Ardennes.”
BMW Motorsport also confirmed that DTM driver Martin Tomczyk will also be taking part with a BMW M6 GT3 at the 24-hour classic in the Ardennes.
The German will complete Roberto Ravaglia’s BMW Team Italia Pro-Am Cup lineup alongside Stefano Colombo, Giorgio Roda and Max Koebolt.
