Baku World Challenge Postponed

The final round of the FIA GT Series in Baku has been postponed due to “unexpected circumstances.” Originally scheduled for Oct. 18-20, the street race in the capital city of Azerbaijan has been rescheduled for Nov. 22-24.

It’s understood delays in the circuit’s construction may have contributed to delay. Baku hosted its first-ever  motorsports event last year, a one-off GT3 event organized by City Challenge.

“We have no doubt that the Azerbaijani authorities shall take any possible initiative and provide all possible support end efforts to make the 2013 Baku World Challenge a memorable success,” a statement from the SRO read.
