Mirko Bortolotti posted the fastest time after two practice sessions for this weekend’s Blancpain Sprint Series round at Misano.

The Nürburgring polesitter continued to show his pace and put the Grasser Racing Team-run Lamborghini Huracán GT3 on top in damp conditions.

Although both 80-minute sessions lacked completely dry asphalt, Bortlotti delivered a 1:45.546 in the second free practice that was held in the dark, 0.148s clear of the No. 1 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi of Robin Frijns.

The Dutchman, who recently secured a Formula E drive, went quickest in FP1, and looks to claim the Blancpain Sprint title one round early with his teammate Laurens Vanthoor.

Their main rivals Maxi Buhk and Vincent Abril only managed P9 (FP1) and P15 (FP2) in the No. 84 Bentley Team HTP Continental GT3 and will face a difficult task on a track that seems to suit the Audis.

The second GRT Lamborghini ended the day in third (+0.262s), the car shared by factory driver Jeroen Mul and newcomer Alberto Di Folco was moved to the Silver Cup after FP1.

The top-nine remained within the same second in the slightly faster evening session, while all 18 GT3s posted a time.

On-track action resumes tomorrow with Qualifying at 2pm local time, followed by the the first Qualifying Race to be held at night at 8.45 pm.
