Matisse Lismont has been announced as the first driver for Comtoyou Racing’s Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS effort with Aston Martin.

The Belgian racer, who turns 19 on Wednesday, steps up to GT3 competition in just his third year in car racing and will contest both the Endurance and Sprint Cup seasons at the wheel of Aston Martin’s new-for-2024 GT3 challenger.

Lismont began his career on two wheels in motocross before transitioning to racing cars, debuting in the Fun Cup series in his native Belgium before going on to race in the Belcar Endurance Championship.

He took a class victory in the 24 Hours of Zolder last year, piloting a PK Carsport-entered BMW M2 CS Racing with former pro cyclist Tom Boonen as one of his co-drivers.

“I have made very considerable progress in my first two seasons in motorsport,” Lismont said.

“My best memory to date is our victory in the TA class during the 24 Hours of Zolder in a BMW M2 CS Racing.

“At the end of 2023, there was a desire to move up a level and several options were considered. Joining Comtoyou Racing was an unmissable opportunity!”

Comtoyou is set for its sophomore campaign in GT3 competition, having debuted last year fielding Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II machinery in both Sprint and Endurance Cup.

It announced a switch to Aston Martin in September as part of a four-year partnership that will include an expansion into GT4 competition.

Comtoyou Racing has always sought to develop young Belgian talent,” said team manager François Verbist.

“We had noticed Matisse’s performance and gave him a test in a GT3 car at Motorland Aragon. He really blew us away!

His speed is undeniable, he has got a good head on his shoulders, he speaks three languages and he is surprisingly mature.

“I am convinced that he is going to surprise a great many people in the coming years, so we are delighted to be able to welcome him to our team.”
