Maxi Gotz has been stripped of his pole for tomorrow’s Total 24 Hours of Spa, following an incident during Super Pole for the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup round.

The driver of the No. 86 AMG-Team HTP Mercedes-AMG GT3  improved his time while the final sector was under yellow for the stranded No. 58 Garage 59 McLaren 650S GT3 of Shane Van Gisbergen.

Mercedes-AMG confirmed that Götz’s lap time was deleted and as a result the yellow Mercedes should start tomorrow’s race from sixth on the grid, based on his second quickest lap.

The change still keeps a historic 1-6 position qualifying sweep for the German manufacturer, and gives Clemens Schmid’s non-factory supported No. 85 HTP Mercedes the pole for the race.

The No. 74 ISR Racing Audi R8 LMS of Franck Perera, meanwhile, lost all of his times due to three track limit infringements, while the No. 16 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 of Mirko Bortolotti has been reprimanded for a track limits infringement and late start from the pit lane.
