Daniel Morad will make his full season Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup debut with Winward Racing.

The two-time Rolex 24 at Daytona GTD class winner will join forces with Mercedes-AMG factory drivers Lucas Auer and Maro Engel for his first full season in the European series.

The 33-year-old previously joined Al Manar Racing by HRT for a one-off outing in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa in 2022.

Auer and Engel, meanwhile, will also team up for the Sprint Cup season in addition to the Endurance events, dovetailing the full Fanatec GT Europe campaign with their existing commitments in DTM.

“Nobody in our team needs to complain about too much boredom or too little challenge this season,” said team principal Christian Hohenadel.

“With the DTM and the GT World Challenge, we are competing in the two toughest GT racing series in the world.

“The power density in both categories is enormous, and the diversity in the GT World Challenge with racing cars from nine different brands is greater than ever.

“The fact that Mercedes-AMG is the defending champion and that we are fielding an absolute top pairing in Maro and Luggi also means that we have a major goal: we want to be in contention for the championship.

“It’s clear that everything has to go right in this top-class field. But we are happy to take on the challenge and are looking forward to it!”

In addition to the Pro car, Winward will field a second Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo in the Silver cup, piloted by Colin Caresani, Daan Arrow and Tanart Sathienthirakul.

While Dutch drivers Caresani and Arrow are set for their first full seasons in Fanatec GT, Sathienthirakul joins after a season in Silver Cup with Dinamic GT last year.
