Laurens Vanthoor and Frederic Vervisch, drivers of the No. 1 Audi R8 LMS for Belgian Audi Club Team WRT, have been awarded a 30-second post-race penalty for an unsafe pit stop release.

They had finished second on track, but now move down to eighth overall, while the sister WRT car of Enzo Ide and Christopher Mies inherits the second position.

Ide and Mies won Saturday’s Qualifying Race and with a second position have increased their Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup championship lead.

Maximilan Buhk and Dominik Baumann’s win has remained unchanged, with the HTP Motorsport pairing taking their first Sprint Cup win of the year, after winning the Endurance round at Silverstone.

This penalty has important implications to the Sprint Cup points standings, with one round remaining. Ide and Mies now have a 17-point lead over Baumann and Buhk.
