Audi has topped the time charts in the opening day of practice for the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, with the No. 22 Jamec Pem Racing Audi R8 LMS of Frederic Vervisch leading the way.

Vervisch reeled off a 2:03.136 lap time in the day’s fourth and final practice session, to set the fastest-ever time on Friday at Mt. Panorama.

The No. 43 Team Schnitzer BMW M6 GT3, which was quickest in the opening two sessions in the hands of Augusto Farfus, was second, followed by the sister No. 74 Jamec Pem Audi of Markus Winkelhock in third.

Three Audis were in the top-four in the session, with the No. 37 WRT entry fourth, followed by the Team SRM BMW, which completed the top-five.

The No. 32 Lago Racing Lamborghini Gallardo R-EX, meanwhile, was quickest of the GT3 Pro-Am competitors in sixth overall, with the No. 23 Team Carrera Cup Asia Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car topping Class B.

Class C, for GT4-spec machinery, was led by the No. 46 Prosport Performance Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR.

The scheduled 45-minute session came to an early end following an accident for the No. 8 Scott Taylor Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 and the No. 15 Baigent Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 at the Chase.

Final practice is on tap for Saturday at 8:55 a.m. local time, followed by qualifying and the Top 10 Shootout in the afternoon.
