Alvaro Parente has captured pole for Monday’s opening Pirelli World Challenge GT SprintX race at Lime Rock Park, continuing K-PAX Racing’s momentum from the last round.

Parente’s teammate, Rodrigo Baptista, meanwhile, picked up Pro-Am class pole honors.

The former series champion set a 51.582-second lap in the No. 9 Bentley Continental GT3, although the lap time was later disallowed due to cutting the chicane.

His second-best time, a 51.675, however, was still enough for pole, 0.082 seconds ahead of the No. 80 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Mike Skeen.

Parente will share driving duties with Bentley factory driver Andy Soucek in the pair of 60-minute races on Memorial Day.

His pole run comes after a 1-2 sweep in last weekend’s Sprint Race 2 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

CTMP Race 1 winner Daniel Morad will line up third in the No. 2 CRP Racing Mercedes, ahead of the No. 61 R. Ferri Motorsport Ferrari 488 GT3 of Toni Vilander, with Spencer Pumpelly completing the top-five overall in the No. 24 Alegra Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Baptista claimed GT Pro-Am class pole in his No. 3 K-PAX Bentley, qualifying 7th overall, less than a half-second clear of Parker Chase, who picked up his first career victory last weekend.

Race 1 gets underway at 11:25 a.m. EDT, with the second round on tap for 4:05 p.m.
