WeatherTech will serve as the primary sponsor of Proton Competition’s pair of customer Porsche 963s that will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship later this season.
The German squad confirmed on social media the liveries for the Hypercar and GTP class entries, featuring backing from WeatherTech as well as F.A.T. International, a previous sponsor on Porsche 962s.
Its links with WeatherTech comes from the operation of WeatherTech Racing’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo in the GTD Pro class of the WeatherTech Championship.
Harry Tincknell, Gianmaria Bruni and Neel Jani will give the No. 99 Porsche its debut in next weekend’s 6 Hours of Monza WEC round, while the WeatherTech Championship car, which is scheduled to break cover at Road America in August, will be piloted by Tincknell and Bruni and sport the No. 59.
Porsche is due to complete the handover of the first of the Multimatic-chassied cars this week ahead of the WEC round on July 9.
