Giano Taurino was quickest in practice for Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America competitors at Watkins Glen International on Thursday.

Taurino’s 1:48.203 lap time in the No. 88 TR3 Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 was quicker than co-driver Ernie Francis’s 1:48.855 from the afternoon session that was good enough for second quickest.

Andy Lee was fastest in the second session overall in his Pro-Am class No. 14 Flying Lizard Motorsports Lamborghini, thanks to a 1:48.418 lap time.

The No. 4 ANSA Motorsports entry of Kiko Porto ended up third overall and second in Pro, followed by John Capestro-Dubets, who made a late session improvement in Practice 2 to put his No. 46 Precision Performance Motorsports Lamborghini in fourth.

Alexandre Premat completed the top-five overall in the No. 70 Forte Racing Lamborghini, ahead of defending Pro class champion Danny Formal in the No. 1 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti entry.

The No. 98 Flying Lizard Lamborghini of Sam Shi led the Am class while LB Cup was paced by Rocky T Bolduc in the No. 99 Topp Racing machine.

The opening session saw limited running due to three red flags, the first for the No. 10 WTRAndretti machine of Graham Doyle, who went off in Turn 5.

It was followed by an incident for Slade Stewart’s No. 14 Flying Lizard entry in Turn 6, and then a separate incident from the No. 45 PPM Lamborghini of Rob Walker, also in the same corner.

The second 45-minute session, which was delayed by an hour due to afternoon thunderstorms, had a single stoppage for the No. 48 PPM entry of Michael Staab, who had an impact with the Turn 9 barriers but continued.

Qualifying is next up and is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. EDT. The first 50-minute race of the weekend takes the green flag at 5:20 p.m. that evening, with live coverage on Peacock and IMSA.tv.
