Porsche Penske Motorsport’s Dane Cameron led the way at the halfway point of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen as rain arrived at Watkins Glen International.

A heavy accident for Giammarco Levorato in the No. 55 Proton Competition Ford Mustang GT3 in the final corner, which also collected the No. 27 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo of Zach Robichon, resulted in the race’s fourth full-course caution just moments prior to halfway.

All of the GTP leaders had pitted prior to the yellow except for Cameron, who had been the leader at the time in the No. 7 Porsche 963.

Nick Tandy ran second in the sister No. 6 Penske Porsche entry, with Jordan Taylor third in the pole-sitting No. 40 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Acura ARX-06.

The No. 63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini SC63 of Matteo Cairoli was classified fourth at the halfway mark, with Richard Westbrook completing the top-five in the No. 85 JDC-Miller Motorsports Porsche.

The No. 20 High Class Racing Oreca 07 Gibson of Seth Lucas led LMP2, while Harry Tincknell paced GTD Pro in the No. 64 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3.

Korthoff Preston Motorsports’ Kenton Koch was out front in GTD at the first points-paying segment of the Michelin Endurance Cup.

The majority of the teams have switched to wet-weather Michelin tires, although a few have stayed out as a result of the pit lane entrance being blocked due to the multi-car accident.

A third yellow came out prior to the rain for a race-ending accident by the No. 33 Sean Creech Motorsports Ligier JS P217 Gibson of Joao Barbosa.
