Kellymoss co-owner Victoria Thomas said the team is in the process of ‘pulling together’ an endurance racing program for Ashley Freiberg and Loni Unser next year, with continuations of its significant presence in Porsche single-make series in IMSA and USAC-sanctioned competition, as well as club racing.
Both drivers compete under the Kellymoss umbrella in Porsche single-make competition, with Freiberg having made the step up from Porsche Sprint Challenge North America to Carrera Cup North America this year in the team’s No. 22 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.
Unser, meanwhile, took on Sprint Challenge this season, where she delivered a class win in the No. 4 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport and finished runner-up in the Cayman Pro/Am driver standings.
“My goal is to try to pull together a program for Ashley and Loni doing endurance,” Thomas told Sportscar365. “Putting two really powerful personalities together.
“Women do such a fantastic job for the sponsors in terms of the storytelling, so I feel ike we have a really strong opportunity to be able to do that.
“It depends on budget. It might be in SRO, but ultimately [we want] a nice-sized audience to see what’s going on and being able to have them together.”
Next year, GT World Challenge America powered by AWS moves to a single, three-hour race format for all rounds aside from the Indianapolis 8 Hour, while GT4 America features a single three-hour endurance round on its calendar.
Michelin Pilot Challenge, meanwhile, will continue to include a pair of four-hour endurance races to complement its eight other two-hour races.
“You might see a little activity happening in SRO. You might see a little activity happening in Michelin Pilot Challenge,” hinted Thomas.
“We are still sorting out exactly what [we will do] in the SRO programs, but we’ve got some [911 GT3] Rs that have been acquired and are being tested.”
The team’s participation on the IMSA grid has previously extended to both Pilot Challenge as well as the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in partnership with Riley.
Regardless of program specifics, Thomas ensured that the Wisconsin-based team’s racing efforts would all continue to run exclusively with Porsche machinery.
Kellymoss is expecting similar-looking single-make programs, with a continued significant presence on the Carrera Cup and Sprint Challenge grids. The team is also a fixture on the Porsche Club of America grid.
“For us, we’re going to be continuing Kellymoss’ strong Porsche presence,” added Thomas. “The expectation would be to see us in Porsche Club as a continuation.
“We believe that we will have an equivalent-sized field in Porsche Sprint Challenge. We’ll have an equivalent-sized field in Porsche Carrera Cup.
“That’s kind of the hope on the Kellymoss side for 2026.”
