Absolute Racing has announced it will continue to field a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 in GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS this season.

The No. 29 car, entered under the Absolute Corse banner, will be driven by Akash Nandy for a second season, with the Malaysian driver having been partnered by Huang Ruohan last year for an assault on the Silver-Am class.

Nandy and Huang finished fourth in the class standings with a victory in the final race of the year on the streets of Beijing.

Which class Absolute’s Lamborghini will run in, as well as Nandy’s co-driver, remains unconfirmed ahead of the start of the season next weekend at Sepang.

Team principal Ingo Matter commented: “We are delighted to return to GT World Challenge Asia with Lamborghini and Akash. We learned a great deal last season and are better prepared than we were twelve months ago.

“The entire team is highly motivated, and having Akash with us is a real asset as he brings stability, pace, and further potential for improvement.”

Nandy added: “I’m incredibly grateful to [sponsor] Provident for their support in making this opportunity possible, and to Absolute Racing for their continued backing.

“It’s great to be back in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 for another season. Last year was a valuable learning experience, and with the knowledge we’ve gained, I believe we’re in a strong position heading into this championship.

“There’s a great energy within the team, and we’re ready to give it everything we have.”

Absolute fielded two Lamborghini entries last year, with its No. 19 Pro-Am machine piloted by a variety of drivers across the season including factory racer Edoardo Mortara.

It also ran a Ferrari 296 GT3 in selected rounds under the Absolute Corse banner.

Earlier this week, the team revealed plans to field two Porsche 911 GT3 R Evos in the Pro-Am class with Alessandro Ghiretti and Bastian Buus among its lineups.
