Jesse Krohn will make his return to GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS competition with the Team KRC BMW squad in this weekend’s Mandalika round.

Revealed as part of a 22-car entry list for this weekend’s Indonesian event published on Monday, Krohn will partner Ruan Cunfan at the wheel of KRC’s No. 89 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, taking the place of factory BMW driver Neil Verhagen.

Krohn himself departed BMW’s roster of factory drivers at the end of last year, and has driven Mercedes-AMG machinery for the KCMG team in the NLS this season.

The Finn’s last GTWC Asia appearances came in 2023 with the Team AAI BMW squad.

Verhagen is unavailable to due to a clash with the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Laguna Seca round, where he will drive for Paul Miller Racing.

The field is reduced by one car from this month’s opening round at Sepang as the No. 98 Absolute Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 is absent, while Sean Gelael’s one-off entry in a Garage 75 Ferrari comes at the expense of the team’s regular No. 75 car driven by Christian Colombo and David Tjiptobiantoro.

Elsewhere, a clash with the GTWC Europe Sprint Cup fixture at Brands Hatch means that Porsche drivers Dorian Boccolacci and Bastian Buus will both be absent.

Boccolacci’s place at Phantom Global Racing is occupied by Loek Hartog, while Klaus Bachler stands in for Buus in Absolute Racing’s No. 918 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo.

Additionally, SUPER GT drivers Kazuto Kotaka and Atsushi Miyake will both miss Mandalika as they will be in action at Fuji Speedway on the same weekend.

The Japanese pair’s respective teams — Porsche Centre Okazaki and 5ZIGEN — had already confirmed their replacements, Yuichi Nakayama in the No. 18 Porsche and Kimiya Sato in the No. 500 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3.
